Participants gain a rich understanding of the local culture and make long-lasting connections through this immersion experience. Small groups of 10-12 students spend one week at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica during FSU spring break; or 2 to 3 weeks after the end of spring semester at either the Technical University of Dresden, Germany; or the University of Costa Rica's branch campus in Turrialba, Costa Rica.

Become a Peer Involvement Mentor Today!

The Peer Involvement Mentors Program is a new professional department of the Student Activities Center of Florida State University. Its purpose is to be an advising resource to all students on campus on what activities are available at FSU and how to get involved in them. Mentors are expected to sit down with students, discuss their interests, help them find areas of campus that they would be interested in, help them get into contact with the leaders and members of those areas, and follow up with them after they have had time to pursue that activity. Mentors are expected to be student leaders who exemplify the benefits of being an active student on campus. We are looking for students who have knowledge in different areas of campus: sports, clubs, agencies, volunteer work, honors societies, Greek Life, SGA, campus employment, campus programming, Homecoming, and anything else you can possibly think of. We are looking for Mentors that are friendly and will make students feel comfortable when coming into the office. Service hours will be awarded to Mentors, and there will be room for future advancement into paid positions for those who are dedicated to the program. The office is located in the Oglesby Union, in the Student Activities Center A303D. We look forward to possibly working with you to make a difference on Florida State's campus!
